Fabian is in P5 (5th grade) and he hopes to one day be an engineer. His father allowed him to stay with a relative who wanted a boy in the home to help, but then he began to be abused by another family member. Fabian ran away looking for his mother in Kampala, but when he couldn’t find her he started living on the streets in the slums. He was rescued and brought to the African Hearts Transitional home, and after a time of rehabilitation he was connected with his mother and returned to her care. She is a single mom who struggles to pay school fees.
